The Library of the School of Sciences, respecting the guidelines mentioned in the Renewed NKUA Libraries' Regulations & all the necessary security measures due to the pandemic, is pleased to announce its reopening on Tuesday 20/10/20

Visiting Hours - Monday to Friday 8:30 - 16:30

Users are kindly requested to contact the Library PRIOR to their visit - via email or telephone - in order to book an appointment.

Access to the Library building ONLY through the main entrance (ground floor).

The secondary entrance on the 3rd floor through the Department of Mathematics will remain close until further notice.

Guidelines

  • The use of a face mask is mandatory on all premises.
  • Escalators to be used ONLY by people with disabilities, the elderly & those in need.
  • Access to the Library's Book Rooms is NOT ALLOWED.
  • Due to the special circumstances,  the members of the Sciences Department take precedence in the Library's Services.
  • All returned or used material (books etc) will be placed in a 3-day quarantine period at least.
  • Visiting the Library's premises (book loans, book returns or study services) requires the show of academic or personal ID.
  • The Library's PCs will temporarily not be available 

 

  Reading Rooms

Admission to the Reading Rooms is strictly granted in two-hour sessions by the following timetables: 9.00-11.00, 11.30-13.30, 14.00-16.00.

Each user must contact the Library to book an appointment via email sci-loan@lib.uoa.gr or via telephone (tel. 210 7276519)

Users interested in Library's books must inform the Library staff beforehand & specify the books (title, author, decimal no. , barcode) utilizing the OPAC catalogue (www.lib.uoa.gr)

A 3-book limit applies to all cases.

Users are expected to remain to the Reading Room that will be assigned to them & not to aimlessly wander around the Library.

 

Loan Policy

Users are kindly requested to e-mail the Library ( sci-loan@lib.uoa.gr ) to request a Book Loan specifying the books (title, author, decimal no., barcode) utilizing the OPAC catalogue (www.lib.uoa.gr) . The Library staff will prepare the books and schedule an appointment  for the user to collect the material.

Book Returns

Book Returns DO NOT need an appointment. Users will be asked to fill the following form, Book Return  (also available in the Library) and leave the books & the form to the designated space by the Library's main entrance.

 Interlibrary Loan Service

Users are kindly requested to check if the article or book is available in the NKUA network. Then users can either fill the following form Article Request or email the book details to sci-ill(at)lib.uoa.gr and contact the Library's Interlibrary loan Department.

Eudoxos

"Eudoxos" book returns

In order to return a book received by "Eudoxos" users are requested to email the Library ( sci@lib.uoa.gr ) with their personal details, student id number, telephone & the books that will be returning to the Library.

Secretariat Department - Pergamos 

ALL secretariat services will continue to be conducted electronically, with the exception of the delivery of the supporting documents essential for the upload of thesis / PhDs on "Pergamos"
